21 September 2012: The Government is seeking public comment on draft regulations that provide details of reforms under the Intellectual Property Laws Amendment (Raising the Bar) Act 2012.
The regulations are expected to be of particular interest to the attorney profession, inventors, brand owners and the broader innovation community. The draft regulations will be published in two stages to maximise the time for public comment. Comment is currently sought on:
- Schedule 1 – Raising the quality of granted patents,
- Schedule 4 – Assisting the operations of the IP profession, and
- Schedule 5 – Improving mechanisms for trade mark and copyright enforcement.
