Pew Research Center Survey on search tracking finds privacy concerns

9 March 2012:  A new survey by the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project found that 73 percent of Internet users feel it’s an invasion of privacy for a search engine to track their searches and use that information to tailor or rank results in future searches.  Moreover, 68 percent said they don’t like having their online behavior tracked and analyzed to deliver targeted advertising.
