NBN Interim Satellite Service now available in remote communities

24 May 2012:  Senator Stephen Conroy, has announced that remote schools, health clinics, and local government facilities are now eligible to connect to the National Broadband Network (NBN) through the Interim Satellite Service (ISS).  The Interim Satellite Service has been operating since 1 July 2011 and provides eligible rural and regional Australians fast broadband services.  NBN Co’s long term satellite service will be available in 2015.
