17 May 2012: The Australian Communications and Media Authority has given a formal warning to Lycamobile Pty Ltd, following an investigation that found that it breached the Telecommunications Act by failing to provide accurate customer records to the Integrated Public Number Database (IPND) Manager.
Carriage service providers offering telephone services are required to provide the names and addresses of their customers to the IPND Manager. They must keep this information as up to date as practicable and the ACMA regards non-compliance with the IPND rules as a serious issue.
